It is with great fanfare that we are happy to introduce Stripey Legs and Roobarb who have joined us on the farm for their new forever home.  Stripey Legs is named because of the rings (stripes) around his legs which are actually proper traditional markings for donkeys.

Stripey Legs joins the team

Stripey (as we tend to call him) is not ready to give rides at the moment, but we hope he will have completed his training come early summer 2025.  One lovely feature is that he looks just like a young version of Barney who some of you may remember.

Roobarb (or Roo as we call him) has joined us already able to give rides.  In his previous life Roobarb was used as a therapy donkey typically involved in going to care homes as well as other events where he was happy to be loved by all.

Roobarb joins the team

Both donkeys were brought in to take the places of Abbott and Costello who we lost (at different times) earlier in the year.  Abbott had been unwell for some time but was enjoying his retirement and daily care from Farmer Roger.  Costello's loss was completely unexpected and took us by surprise.  Both donkeys were very much loved not only by all at the farm but by the many guests who have been to visit over the past years.

Donkeys are great for hugs

We look forward to many happy years with Roobarb and Stripey who are both looking forward to meeting you all soon.
