We're Visit England Finalists!
After what has been an extremely challenging year we received some really great news that we have been selected as a finalist within the Self Catering category for the Visit England Excellence Awards 2020 that are due to be announced on the 17th August.
Nominations for the national awards were put forward following the South West Tourism Excellence awards in Exeter Cathedral in February where we won Gold for Best Self Catering Accommodation of the Year. The South West awards saw a record number of entries (773) from the Dorset, Cornwall, Bristol, Bath and Somerset, Devon and South West awards. Since then the all nominees have been through a further round of national judging leading to the announcement of national finalists.
Our story so far has included an amazing number of awards non of which we expected to get, making them all the more fantastic:-
- Gold for the North Devon Business and Tourism Award - September 2019
- Gold for Inclusivity and Accessibility from Visit Devon - November 2019
- Gold for Best Self Catering Accommodation from Visit Devon - November 2019
- Silver for Inclusivity and Accessibility from South West Tourism Excellence Awards - February 2020
- Gold for Best Self Catering Accommodation from South West Tourism Excellence Awards - February 2020
This year the awards are being held via video link (open to all) to take account of current social distancing requirements, so we will take part from the farm with a bottle of bubbly to help create the atmosphere.
Whatever the outcome we will be so proud of our achievement in being a finalist and one of the top 3 in the whole of England. This has certainly helped put a smile on our faces as well as making the team see how their efforts make a real difference.
